Although the winter of 2012 was nothing like last year’s record breaking snowfall, thanks to Northstar California’s™ early-season foresight to ramp up snowmaking, Martis Camp families enjoyed a solid base when the heavy snowfalls finally arrived.
The yurt served us well again this year at the base of the mountain, but it’s scheduled to be replaced next season with the new 8,000-square foot Lookout Lodge. With the new Lodge open, Martis Camp families will be able to enjoy breakfast, lunch and fantastic Après-ski experiences—indoors or out—with great views of Lookout Mountain.
Our 20-plus miles of Community Trails—groomed for snowshoeing and cross country skiing—also provided families a great opportunity to enjoy the wonders of the High Sierra winter again this year when the snow arrived.
2012 was also the first this season for our weekly video ski reports, hosted by golf and ski ambassador Tony Neadeau. Tony did a great job providing weekly information on ski conditions—which you can see in the recap video above.
From everyone here at Martis Camp, we hope you enjoyed the 2012 winter season, and we look forward to seeing you next year!
