Your ultimate Tahoe bucket list.
Only one thing is more beautiful than visiting Lake Tahoe; and that is living at Lake Tahoe. It’s being the last ones to leave the beach. And first ones on the lift. It’s an overdue birdie, a generous trout, a morning of singletrack, an afternoon kayak, and a candlelight dinner. This is living at north Lake Tahoe, where luxury is measured in moments.
Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe, that place Mark Twain called “surely the fairest picture the world affords,” is 22 miles long, 12 miles wide, and striking in both her winter and summer wardrobes, and – best part yet – only about a cup of coffee away from Martis Camp.
Mtn Biking
Saddle up and take to 26 miles of Martis Camp trails or go further afield and you’ll find yourself pleasantly tackling some of the nation’s finest routes, including Northstar California’s bike park and a ridgeline skirting the north shore of Lake Tahoe.
Kid's Camp & Adventures
Martis Camp puts a big emphasis on little adventurers with an art loft, folk school, movie nights and camps that help kids tap into their skills at tennis, golf, hiking, camping, swimming, fishing, and a full slate of eye-opening adventures.
Spa & Fitness
The fitness and wellness center at Martis Camp is loaded with all the bells, whistles, classes and instructors needed to help you break a sweat and feel the burn. Afterward, there’s the therapeutic allures of massages, saunas and steam rooms.
Culinary
Your dining options at Martis Camp are nothing short of delicious, from a burger at the Family Barn to a midday pizza on the deck of the Lookout Lodge overlooking the ski slopes to an unforgettable formal dining scene at the Camp Lodge.
Fly Fishing
Grab a rod and head off for the blue-ribbon waters of the Truckee River that exist upstream, downstream and smack dib in the middle of Truckee. Closer yet is Concert Lake by the Family Barn, the perfect place to get kids hooked on the sport.
Ski
This is the ideal base camp for alpine and cross country skiers, with your private ski lodge and Martis Camp Express Chair up the street and, further afield, more than a dozen within an hour’s drive, including Palisades Tahoe, Sugar Bowl and Royal Gorge.
Golf
The championship course at Martis Camp is the crown jewel of course designer Tom Fazio. Golf Weekly named it “one of America’s top 50 modern golf courses.” Just as alluring is a 18-hole Putting Park that’s a joy for golfers of all ages and intensities.
Sup/Kayaking
Amazing how five or six feet of verticality can enhance the view when observed from a paddleboard on Tahoe or Donner. Then again, grab a kayak (your own, a local rental, or compliments of the Beach Shack), and escape to enjoy your favorite cove.
Concerts & Festivals
One look at Martis Camp’s events calendar and you discover lots to see and much to do, including concerts on the lawn, a 4th of July Festival, holiday celebrations, New Year’s fireworks, ski races, and a full slate of good times to be had.
Folk School
Here, creativity and imagination are unleashed for young and old alike, talents amplified by highly renowned instructors. Painting, photography, jewelry making and wood carving are just a few of the skills pursued in this laid-back setting.
Outdoor Adventure
Action and adventure are the heartbeat of Truckee/Tahoe and opportunities to elevate one’s pulse involve everything from surfing, sailing and soaring to biking, ballooning and bounding one’s way up mountain of boulders at the Tahoe Via Ferrata.
Events Calendar
Something’s always on the agenda at Martis Camp, whether it’s a snowman contest, a concert at The Barn, or a red, white and beautiful celebration of the Fourth. A trip to the Events Calendar may have all the answers to an amazing day.
