FAVORITE PIZZA
Old Town Tap: I always order the Pork & Padrón pizza. Pork belly, bacon, guanciale, pickled peppers, mozzarella, parmesan, chili flakes, and a little honey. It’s salty, spicy, sweet, crispy — Truckee perfection. For quick take-out: Raley’s One Market. Reliable, fast, and surprisingly great pizza when you want something easy.
FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP
Coffeebar Truckee: Warm environment, friendly team, excellent drink options, and their new west-side location serves great food with a big, open layout that’s ideal for casual meet-ups or quick meetings.
BEST APRES SCENE
The Belt Room Bar/Dining Room at Sugar Bowl: leather chairs, wood beams, and a crackling fire. The cocktails hit exactly right after a powder day, and it feels like stepping into Tahoe’s past in the best possible way.
SNOWSHOE / SLEDDING / CROSS-COUNTRY
Snowshoe out to Cutter’s Camp in Martis Camp: peaceful forest, fresh snow, and a little Martis Camp magic in the snow. And someday soon, I hope to bring back the original bonfire deep in the woods for Martis campers. I’ve heard many tales of those past adventures — too good of a tradition to let go.
FAVORITE RUN AT NORTHSTAR CALIFORNIA
Prosser: Wide, smooth, usually sunny, and it always feels a little less crowded, the perfect way to end a ski day with one long run.

FAVORITE PIZZA
Raley’s Deli. Call ahead or walk in and order your pizza while you shop for groceries. Endless toppings for the same price make a meal or two out of it. Or, if you have the space, get an Ooni pizza oven and make some pizzas at home with your friends and family. It’s a super fun activity and tastes great!
FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP
Whole Treats Bakery + Coffeehouse has the best fresh bakery items, and espresso. Enjoy the Legacy Walking Trail right next door to get some fresh air. These ladies make treats that are so good – you don’t feel the guilt.
BEST APRES SCENE
River Ranch at the base of Alpine located on HWY 89 has a cozy bar with great happy hour on weekdays.
SNOWSHOE / SLEDDING / CROSS-COUNTRY
Royal Gorge is a beautiful location and well-worth the drive. It takes about 20 minutes from downtown. With groomed runs and epic scenery, it’s a tough one to beat.
FAVORITE RUN AT NORTHSTAR CALIFORNIA
On the right day, Sawtooth Ridge is worth the hike. Take Challenger to Sawtooth (hang a left at the bottom of Challenger), hike through the gates (if open), stop at the first peak for a sweet panoramic shot, go the second peak, and hike a bit more along the boundary line to Sawtooth. Treat yourself to some fresh powder turns, and grab a well-deserved Hot Toddie at Mt. Pluto via Backside Express.

FAVORITE PIZZA
I’m actually more of a Thai-food guy. After a day of snowboarding, nothing hits better than the Tom Kha Gai from Siam Cuisine. It’s one of my go-to spots whether I’m dining in or grabbing takeout. Most days I’ll pick some up on my way home from the resort and enjoy it by the fire.
FAVORITE COFFEE SHOP
Coffeebar Bakery is definitely one of my favorites – not just for the coffee, but for their incredible gluten-free options. Don’t skip the gluten-free
sourdough! It’s one of the best GF breads I’ve ever had, and the everything bagel sourdough loaf is out of this world.
BEST APRES SCENE
RMU is my go-to après spot. They have great food, solid cocktails, and there’s usually live music or an event happening on most weekends. If you’re into trivia or karaoke after a long day of skiing, this is definitely the place to be.
SNOWSHOE / SLEDDING / CROSS-COUNTRY
For snowshoeing, I’m a big fan of heading up to Donner Summit. The views of Truckee and Donner Lake are unreal, especially on a bluebird day after a storm. It’s peaceful, scenic, and one of my favorite ways to take in the mountains.
FAVORITE RUN AT NORTHSTAR CALIFORNIA
I’m a big fan of riding through the trees, so when the Sugar Pine Glades are filled in, you can usually find me over there. On a midweek pow day, it feels like you have the whole zone to yourself, and you can score fresh turns all day long.
