The Martis Camp Community Foundation is pleased to announce the presentation of the first Denise Martinez Scholarship to a Truckee High School senior. Savannah Graham was chosen from dozens of her peers, as the best representative of Denise’s ideals of scholarship, work ethic, community service and love of golf. Financial need is also a consideration.
The scholarship is for $10,000, paid in $2,500 annual installments, as long as the student maintains a GPA of 3.0 or better. Savannah and her mother were surprised and delighted by the award. She plans to attend Chico State University in the fall, with a major in nursing.
We also gave cash grants in May totaling $3,500 to the following charities:
$500 – Inner Rhythms, Inc.
$1,000 – Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe
$1,000 – Project M.A.N.A.
$1,000 – Tahoe Safe Alliance

We have a few upcoming events, for which we would really appreciate your support. First is the Summer Solstice Golf Tournament on Monday, June 25, which supports the MCCF and Young Life. Please contact the golf shop to participate in this Better Ball tourney, with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
Second, is the Martis Camp Home Tour on Sunday, August 5, which supports the MCCF and Excellence in Education. For tickets to this event you can go to the Excellence in Education website – www.exined.org. Alternatively, you can purchase a ticket at the Sales Office, or charge your donation to your member account by signing a charge slip at any of the homes on the tour.
Third, is the 5K Fun Run on Saturday, August 18, to benefit the MCCF. Reserve your spot by contacting Fitness Manager Scott Eberhardt at (530)550-6060, scotte@martiscamp.com, or just show up!
Finally, we have the Martinez Member-Ambassador golf tournament on Sunday, October 7. This is the one event we host annually from which the donations are dedicated to the Denise Martinez Scholarship Fund.
