INSTRUCTORS
CONOR BALL
Leading the Martis Camp culinary team as Executive Chef, Conor Ball has thrilled the membership with regional American cuisine featuring local and sustainable ingredients, inspired by his roots in the Pacific Northwest.
TOM BEEBE
Tom Beebe is a formally trained woodworking artist from Truckee. He has more than 25 years of experi- ence and enjoys combining Old World techniques with modern technology. His award-winning work has been featured in local galleries and exhibitions.
ABI COLLOMB
Chef Abi began her career at The Breakers in West Palm Beach. She has been the personal Chef du Cuisine for private clients both on land and by sea, including private yachts in the Mediterranean and beyond. Salads are her passion and she draws from her Ayurveda education to emphasize the importance of the midday meal.
DANIEL HELZER
Daniel is a graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art
and Fresno State University. He has worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for ad agencies and marketing firms. He also has worked as a concept artist for
the video game industry developing characters and environments, including his current work at International Gaming Technology.
NANCY HINDS
Nancy Hinds is a full-time studio artist working predominately in fabric. Her passion for teaching quilting takes her around the country to share her love of fiber arts. Nancy’s quilts range from traditional to contemporary and have been displayed in traveling shows around the world.
MONIKA PIPER JOHNSON
Monika is an award-winning oil painter living in Incline Village. A graduate of Suffolk University in Boston, she has spent many years honing her craft. Her plein air landscapes, done in oil with a palette knife and her signature bold color and texture, are generating excitement among her many admirers. She recently exhibited her work at the Family Barn.
KEVIN LEFFLER
Kevin Leffler is a bespoke shoemaker who specializes in luxury leather goods. When he’s not designing shoes, you can find him exploring the Sierra Nevada.
CAROLINE MUSTARD
A native of England and graduate of the University
of Brighton Faculty of Arts with a degree in Fine Art Painting, Caroline now lives and works in Silicon Valley where she co-founded the Mobile Art Academy in 2013. She has been a sponsor of the annual Mobile Digital Art & Creativity Summit for the past four years.
DOMINIQUE NAGEL
Passionately pursuing the arts, Dominique’s love of experimenting and learning new techniques drew her to the electroforming jewelry process. A graduate of California State University Long Beach, her interests in painting, graphic design and pyrography give her work a unique sense of style and grace.
CAROLE SESKO
Local artist Carole Sesko has over 20 years of experience in contemporary art. Carole works with wood, canvas, paper, metal and textiles. Her art is process-driven and she strives to balance matte, sheen, color, pattern and texture for unity and flow.
ANDY SKAFF
Andy Skaff has been honored with solo shows in
San Francisco and Lake Tahoe galleries and exhibits his work around the nation. His paintings are featured regularly in installations at Gump’s San Francisco. The Ritz-Carlton Highlands Lake Tahoe and Martis Camp have purchased his work for their permanent collections.
JENNY SMART
Award-winning culinary artist and former Martis Camp Pastry Chef Jenny Smart delighted members with her dessert creations for many years. Now owner of the newly opened Cornerstone Bakery in Truckee, she specializes in delicious chocolates, cakes and more.
CARYL ST  AMA
Caryl St. Ama has worked with oil, water media,
acrylic and mixed media but she was eventually turned on to encaustic and hasn’t looked back. She’s a tenured professor at Glendale College where she teaches painting and life drawing. She maintains an art studio in South Pasadena.
KELLY WALLIS OF ATELIER
Atelier’s retail/studio space is nestled in historic downtown Truckee. Atelier strives to be the creative hub of the local art community by hosting workshops taught by the area’s most sought-after artists.
